Nordstrom Sale Picks + Weekly Recap

Nordstrom Sale Picks

I got an email yesterday saying that Nordstrom is having an up to 40% off fall sale! Some of my favorite fall pieces are included in the sale, so I will share my 2 favorite things that I own below and then include some other things that I am loving!

Thermal Tee- My mom, my sister, and I all have this top. And my mother in law and one of her best friends got it too. It's so comfortable and easy to wear with leggings or skinny jeans! It is currently $40.80 (40% off)!

IMG_6250 2.jpg

Roll Tab Sleeve Tunic- I have been talking about this tunic for months. It is so good. I have it in white and black, and it is so easy to dress up or down. It is currently $27.90 (33% off).

It has been quite the week for us with Bailey, my mom, and Parker all having birthdays! Celebrations are so much fun. Thanks so much for reading! Have a wonderful weekend!

Three Things Thursday

I've got another Three Things Thursday post for y'all today with (unsurprisingly) 3 things that have next to nothing in common. However, before I get into the three things, I've got to give Parker a birthday shoutout! It would take me way too many blog posts to attempt to put into words how grateful I am for this wonderful husband of mine!

Parker did not ask to be the unpaid, hard working photographer for Art Fashion Fun. However, he has so kindly accepted this job and been the best behind-the-scenes supporter I could have ever asked for. He doesn't typically read my blog posts- I think the time spent on photographs is enough Art Fashion and Fun for him. But I couldn't write a blog post on his birthday and not throw a birthday wish out there!

That's enough for now. Back to today's 3 things:

1. The best, long-lasting lip color- I will be the first to tell you that I am not one who knows much about makeup. However, I have a few select products that I really do love, and this ultra wear lip color is one of them. It is known to be extremely long-lasting. And the color I have is perfect for fall and winter. On one side, it has the base color coat, and a clear gloss is on the other side. The color I have is #69 Tender Beige. It is a little more than I typically spend on lipstick. However, it is worth it in my opinion!

IMG_6767.jpg

2. Marinating chicken in buttermilk- Y'all might think I'm crazy on this one. However, we love it! Parker watched something that said marinating chicken in buttermilk will make your chicken super moist. So, we buy buttermilk when we know we will be eating chicken. And the night before Parker cooks the chicken, he puts the chicken and buttermilk in a ziplock bag and lets it sit in the refrigerator overnight.

We have been doing this for a couple of years now. However, Parker's parents got into town last night, and we cooked dinner at home for them. As soon as Parker's mom tasted the chicken, she said what did y'all do to this chicken? It is so moist! So that made me realize people may not know this little trick, and I decided to switch up one of my original three things to this one. If you try it out, let me know what you think!

3. The cutest holiday outfit- I shared this picture on Instagram last night, but I wanted to share it here too because it is the perfect outfit for any holiday party! Or any fun occasion really. Y'all, this skirt is the cutest! Bright pink and ruffles? I clearly had to have it. It also comes in indigo and topaz if pink is not your thing. The best news is that it is on sale right now. What you need to know is that it runs extremely large. I sized down 2 sizes. And the pretty silk blouse is true to size. It is also on sale!

The link I provided takes you straight to the Shop My Insta page. All you have to do is click on the picture shown below on the Shop My Insta page, and all of the outfit details will appear (along with some other pink sale items I linked). Click on any of the items you see, and you will be taken directly to that item on the retailer's site! You will definitely see more of me in this skirt. I'm thinking some sparkly silver or gold heels would be so much fun with it!

Parker's parents are in town, it's Parker's birthday, and I am meeting Kathleen from Carrie Bradshaw Lied. It's a great day! Thanks so much for reading! Have a wonderful day!

Wednesday Wishlist: J.Crew Factory Edition

A couple weeks ago, my mom sent me a picture of this coat from J. Crew Factory. Ever since she sent that text, I have noticed at least half a dozen bloggers wearing it. Every time I have tried something these bloggers have shared, I have been so happy with my purchase. They say it is the highest quality coat that you will most definitely get your money's worth out of. I have seen girls wearing gray, camel, and purple. My mom's favorite is green, and my favorite is pink!

After thinking about this coat for the past 2 weeks, I decided to make a wishlist of all the things I want from J.Crew Factory. I've also been trying to figure out why I don't shop here more often. High quality J.Crew items for a fraction of the price... there are so many amazing deals! Another perk is that they offer $5 flat rate shipping and free shipping on orders over $100.

I think so many things I'm sharing below would be perfect Christmas gifts (especially the jewelry and scarves). My mom actually got Ebie and me these earrings yesterday with a coupon she had for her birthday. They would make such a cute and fun gift or stocking stuffer!

I actually stopped by J.Crew (not Factory) yesterday, and I stumbled upon this coat, which is almost identical to the one at J.Crew Factory. The only thing that looks different is the pockets. And the original price of this one is $350, and it is currently on sale for $262.50. The similar coat at J.Crew Factory is originally $228, and it is currently marked down to $159.50.

The majority of the items you will see below come in various colors. If you click on the picture, you will be taken to that item on J.Crew Factory's website and you can check out all of the other color options. I think this coat that my mom picked out is still my very favorite (it is pictured below in red), but I am also LOVING the jewelry, pjs, vests, and these signature leggings

Do you have any favorites? There are just too many cute things for such reasonable prices! Thanks so much for reading! Have a great day!

October Favorites

I'm sharing my favorite purchases from October today, but my #1 favorite thing about October is my mom's birthday (which is today)! I got my love of celebrating from her, and I personally believe every chance to celebrate needs to be taken! Happy birthday to you Mama, and I cannot wait to continue your celebration in Southaven in a week and a half!

Favorite Dress // Favorite Top // Favorite Outerwear // Favorite Shoes // Favorite Accessory // Favorite Bottoms

Favorite Dress- I got this from a boutique in Memphis called Indigo. However, I found it online at Nordstrom, and I'm so excited to be able to link it for you because it is the most perfect holiday dress! It is the perfect shade of red, super flowy (AKA so comfortable), and has the cutest simple flecked metallic print.

Favorite Top- I fell in love with this sweater as soon as I saw it in store. I got one for my mom and one for me. The ruffle hem is adorable, and it is such a lightweight sweater that you can wear comfortably without getting too warm.

Favorite Outerwear- Vests are so perfect for our current weather situation. You can wear it out when it's still chilly and then easily take it off by the time it warms up. I love this pink one, but it comes in 5 other colors too and is such a steal!

Favorite Shoes- If you have been reading my blog posts the past couple of weeks, I think it is probably pretty obvious to you that I would choose these shoes as my favorite shoes for October. I have the taupe pair. Click here to check them out in black. And do you want to hear something I just discovered???! They also just fully stocked them in nude! Click here to check out the nude pair. For under $40, I'm seriously considering grabbing the nude and black pairs too! I have never gotten more messages about anything I've ever posted. Everyone who has gotten these shoes has loved them and several have said they do not want to take them off, even when they are at home. They are some great ones!

Favorite Accessory- I have never owned a blanket scarf, and I am now obsessed! It adds a little bit of fun and warmth to any outfit!

Favorite Bottoms- I got these on sale when I went to Anthrolpologie a couple weeks ago. They are actually still on sale. This is my first pair of jeans by this brand, and I actually really like the fit. They are midrise and the perfect length! If you're not a fan of leopard print, you can click here to check out the regular denim pair.

Happy Halloween and thanks so much for reading! Have a great day!

The Best Riding Boots

I had so much fun last week getting to talk to so many people about these under $35 wedges. So I decided to write a post this week featuring another pair of my favorite shoes. I actually got these shoes 2 years ago, but they keep coming back each fall because they are such fabulous boots that will never go out of style.

IMG_6223.jpg

I know calling these boots the best is a bold statement. However, I feel confident saying this because they are so cute, comfortable, and classic! I love them so much that I actually have them in black and brown. I know they are a bit of an investment, but when you wear them year after year, you definitely get your money's worth out of them.

6618DD29-D77C-4F6E-9DF3-D65E0DEC282A.JPG

I also own these Tory Burch riding boots, which are more of an investment. However, I honestly always reach for these boots I'm sharing with you today because I know I can walk around in them all day and all night and nothing will pinch or hurt. Don't get me wrong- I love my Tory Burch boots too, but they are not a perfect, comfortable fit like these Sam Edelman boots are.

IMG_6065.jpg

I will link them at several different retailers below, so you can take your pick of your preferred retailer. Just click on the name of the retailer, and it will take you straight to the boots.

Do you have any riding boots that you adore? If you're not interested in spending that kind of money at the moment, check out this post for more information on the wedges I mentioned at the beginning of today's post. They're another great pair of shoes to have in your closet for an amazing price. Thanks so much for reading! Have a great day!

Holiday Shopping + Weekly Recap

Holiday Shopping

Y'all, I am so excited about the newest addition to my blog! I have created a Holiday Shopping page. I had so much fun picking out things to put on this page. There are items at all different price points.

Parker and I LOVE starting our Christmas shopping early. This allows us to spread the expenses out over time. When you start early, you can pick out the items and wait for them to go on sale before you make the purchase!

So I went ahead and created this page early, and I will edit it as I find items that go on sale. You can click here to check it out. Or go to the menu at the top, click Sales, and then Holiday Shopping. You can check out a few of my favorite picks below. They are all located on the Holiday Shopping page though, along with many other items! Let me know what you think!

A New Day at Target

Have you checked out the line at Target called A New Day? It just keeps getting better and better! I popped into Target yesterday for a couple of things, like K cups and Scrubbing Bubbles, and I somehow managed to end up in the fitting room with the entire A New Day collection. Parker suggested I go to Kroger for the few things on our list, and I just can't figure out why. :)

There are clothes, shoes, handbags, and accessories in this line. You might remember these leopard print booties that I got a few weeks ago. I also got these black over the knee boots. These shoes kicked off my excitement about A New Day, and now, as you will see in this post, I also love their clothing!

Outfit Details: Dress // Booties

Outfit Details: Dress // Booties

As I mentioned earlier, I planned on popping into Target to pick up a couple of things on my list. I was in my exercise clothes yet again with no makeup on, so please excuse the not put together look. And also please pretend like I don't have messy hair, a sports bra hanging out, and ankle socks on with the cute clothes I tried on. Pretend like I wore these wedges I shared the other day, my makeup and hair were done, and I had on the appropriate undergarments. And maybe one day I will officially learn my lesson. Until then, let's focus on how adorable this clothing line is!

Chunky Cowlneck Sweater- This is my favorite item of the whole try on session! It was the last item I stumbled upon, and the one (clothing) item I ended up buying. I got Parker to take a normal picture of me in it once I got home because I wanted to show you how cute it is when you actually style it, while looking somewhat presentable. Although my mom didn't care if I looked presentable or not. I sent her the picture straight from the fitting room, and she raced right out to Target. They didn't have it at Target in Mobile, so she ordered it online in green and cream. It's a good one y'all, especially considering it is only $29.99!

Fleece Swing Dress- I have been living in sweatshirt dresses and comfy clothes on the weekends. We don't leave the house very often on gameday, so I am always in some kind of comfy attire on Saturdays. This dress was a little too long on me, but it has pockets and is super soft!

IMG_7427.jpg

Fleece Tie Waist Dress- The dress above was a little too long and big, but this one's perfect! I would wear this one out of the house. The tie makes it flattering and so cute!

IMG_7428.jpg

Cozy Cowl Tunic- Can you tell I'm all about comfort these days? This comes in 8 colors and is SO comfortable!

IMG_7430.jpg

Tie Sleeve Sweater- I only allowed myself to buy one thing from the clothing section, but if I would have gotten 2 things, this would have been my second thing. I LOVE statement sleeves, and I don't have any tops or sweaters that have tie sleeves. This sweater comes in 4 colors and is really soft and pretty.

IMG_7429.jpg

In these pictures, I was wearing these $10 leggings and these $14.99 high waisted leggings. They both fit nicely, but I can never go back to cotton leggings after experiencing the amazingness of Zella leggings

I'll end with a shot where I have on makeup and no ankle socks. This is quickly becoming one of my favorite looks for fall!

You can click here to shop the A New Day line by category. Thanks so much for reading! Have a great day!

SOME OF MY OTHER A NEW DAY FAVORITES:

3 Casual Fall Looks

Today I'm sharing 3 casual looks for fall with items that I have been wearing on repeat. Each of the 3 tops I'm sharing I have in multiple colors because they are so good. My favorite thing to look for in a top lately has been length. Anything I can pair with my favorite black leggings, olive moto leggings, or faux leather leggings (all of which are high waisted) is a win in my book!

In Southaven, Mississippi, I don't have too many reasons to get too dressed up, so all the pieces included in these casual looks are pieces that I get so much use out of. They are all super comfortable and easy to throw on and go! Plus, most pieces are very reasonably priced. All of the tops are under $30!

Look 1- Plush Turtleneck Tunic // Leggings // Boots // Scarf // Earrings

IMG_7352.jpg

I also have and love this top in green! It is SO soft and comfortable!

IMG_6966.jpg
IMG_7353.jpg

I have shared this top several times. I have it in 9 colors because it is the best layering tunic for any season! And now that it comes in a luxe material, it is even more comfortable!

IMG_6954.jpg
IMG_7354.jpg

I have this tunic in black and white, and it is the perfect top to dress up or down!

IMG_6804.jpg

You can find me in many of these pieces (or the other colors that I have) quite a few days of the week. Do you buy multiple colors when you find something you love that is reasonably priced?? My mom and I love to do that! Thanks so much for reading! Have a great day!

The Most Comfortable and Affordable Wedges

I dont think I have written an entire blog post devoted to one pair of shoes yet. However, that is changing today! I am so excited to share more about these shoes with you. First, I need to give credit to my mom's friend, Mrs. Ashley! She is the one who discovered these fabulous wedges. And thanks to my mom for buying them for me!

IMG_7307.jpg
IMG_7308.jpg
IMG_7309.jpg

Outfit Details: Shoes // Pullover, also here (go down one size) // Leggings // Earrings // Necklace

I will start by telling you that they are $33.99. Ummmm, for a pair of cute wedges, that is unreal in my opinion! Especially for a pair of wedges that will get as much use as these. They run true to size. I am wearing my usual size. They are so comfortable and the perfect taupe color, so you can wear them with so many different outfits. However, if you prefer black, I just stumbled upon them. Click here to go to the black pair! They are $39.99.

I am not one of those people who wears heels frequently. I would rather be comfortable in shoes, so you can typically catch me wearing boots and booties in the fall. However, I have actually been wearing these more than my boots and booties because they are so soft and comfortable. Plus, they are both season and weather appropriate! I have worn them for a full day of shopping in Memphis, as well as many other times.

IMG_6656.JPG

Also, I discovered the other day that photographing shoes is a really challenging task for me. I hope you can tell how amazing they are from the pictures. But if you can't, I will leave you with a review that one of my best friends left in a comment on a post last week.

"Got my taupe Pierre Dumas wedges and wore them out Friday! They are SO comfy and light weight!! I know they will be my staple transition shoe (until it gets too cold for my toes)! Thinking about getting my sisters pairs too!"

Sarah, thank you SO much for commenting and giving me feedback about a purchase you made through my blog! I can't even tell you how much joy that brings me! Your few sentences describe these shoes better than I did in several paragraphs!

I clearly love these shoes, and I love when I get to share super affordable options with you! Thanks so much for reading! Have a great day!

Ten Fall Trends

Today I'm sharing 10 Fall 2017 trends and how I feel about each of them. I typically am not one to explore crazy trends, but I can definitely get behind many of the trends that are happening right now! However, there are also several on this list that I am not so sure about...

1. Statement sleeves- 100% YES! Ruffle sleeves, bell sleeves, balloon sleeves, tie sleeves... I love them all! Outfit details: Bell sleeve tunic // Leggings // Boots

IMG_6249.jpg

2. The color red- I like red! This trend isn't that crazy, but I honestly don't have much red in my wardrobe. However, I did just get this red dress because I thought it would be perfect for the holidays! I got it from a boutique in Memphis called Indigo. The following link is to Nordstrom because Indigo does not have it online. It is the same dress though! Outfit Details: Dress // Shoes (32% off) // Clutch // Earrings // Bracelets

5623730C-01BE-4895-ACC8-CC0BF609C755.jpg

3. Velvet- I'm not so into this one. Other people look cute in it, but it's not as much my style. Ok, so I wrote this caption before I searched for velvet things. My opinion has changed. I now like several velvet things, especially the Tory Burch bag and Sam Edelman shoes below. I'm still not crazy about velvet clothes, but I guess I can get behind certain velvet shoes and handbags.

4. Victorian detail- I like more moderate Victorian details. I think Victorian necklines can be very pretty. However, I have discovered that many Victorian style pieces are WAY out of my price range and some are WAY too eccentric for me. For example, the first dress pictured below is $2,005. Disclaimer- I do not like all of the pieces I am sharing below, just trying to give an overview of Victorian details. I do like the second and third items I linked though.

5. Florals- I am so picky about florals, but I do love this floral dress!

FullSizeRender 25.jpg

6. Ruffles- YES times 4 billion. I love all ruffles. Outfit Details: Dress // Crossbody Bag

IMG_5718.JPG

7. Metallic- I like some metallic clothing, but I cannot pull off the shoes.

8. Pearl embellished everything- LOVE! Ok, this trend actually did the opposite of what several other trends did to me. I really loved the pieces I have seen several bloggers post about. They look so cute in their pearl embellished jeans and pearl embellished booties. However, the more pearl embellished pieces I found, the less I loved it. I still like it, but I don't love it like I initially thought I did.

9. Asymmetrical details- My opinion varies so much in this category. However, we do all love this Free People top that has an asymmetrical hem.

IMG_6250.jpg

10. LEOPARD PRINT! If you read my post last week, you are well aware that I am loving the leopard print trend. If you missed it, click here to check it out! Or you can click here to go to my leopard print dress shown below!

IMG_6810.jpg

What do you think about these trends? I think ruffles has to be my number 1 favorite. But statement sleeves and leopard print are right behind ruffles! Thanks so much for reading! Have a great day!
