You can click here to get my favorite new ruffle hem sweater for 25% off!

*Abercrombie is a store that I was beyond obsessed with in middle school. However, I haven't been there since those days. So many bloggers have posted about it lately that I finally decided to check it out. I really like the few pieces that I have included in this post! And the sale prices make them really inexpensive!

Nordstrom Sale Items

This is a picture of me in the blue dress pictured above, but I'm obviously wearing the lilac one. It comes in 5 colors and is currently 40% off! Click here to check it out!

I can't believe this pullover is 40% off! I wear it every weekend with leggings and slippers when I'm at home. And I change the slippers out for boots when I want to go out. It is so cute and comfy, but it runs really big, so size down at least one size. Click here to check it out.

UPDATE- Thanks to my mom for letting me know it sold out at Nordstrom. However, you can click here to get 40% off a small in this pink color and an XS, S, and M in blue!

Old Navy Try On Session

Y'all, I went to Old Navy yesterday, and they have way too many cute fall things! And more good news- everything is up to 50% off for the big fall sale! I tried on quite a few items and only ended up buying 3 of them (this blanket scarf and this tunic in 2 colors) because #budgeting. However, I now have a list of so many fabulous things that I want!

Details of the outfit I wore to Old Navy: my favorite Old Navy tunic that I have in 9 colors // my favorite leggings that are so comfortable // my favorite new wedges that are $33.99 and like walking on clouds // crossbody bag (clearly the theme of this outfit was comfort)

IMG_6952.jpg

Long and Lean Tunic- The first thing I tried on was this tunic that I mentioned above (and have in 9 colors and actually wore to the store). I clearly do not need another one. However, they now come in a luxe material that is so soft and comfortable. If you don't have one of these, I highly suggest it! The length makes it perfect to wear with leggings or skinny jeans! And it comes in several different colors.

IMG_6953.jpg

Relaxed Soft-Washed Classic Shirt- The name says it all. This button-down is so soft and classic. I'm loving the colors of their plaids right now.

IMG_6955.jpg

Relaxed Soft-Washed Classic Shirt 2- I tried it on in this print too because I have the dress version of this windowpane shirt, and I love it!

IMG_6958.jpg

Puffer Vest- I knew I had to try this on as soon as I walked in. It makes so many outfits so much cuter. It's also fleece lined and very warm. It comes in 5 other colors if pink is not your thing. However, pink is my thing, and I really like the blush pink option too. :)

IMG_6954.jpg
IMG_6956.jpg
IMG_6959.jpg

Quilted Vest- Everyone needs one of these for fall! It's such a cute layering piece that is lightweight and will not make you too warm. This one comes in 5 other colors too.

IMG_6957.jpg

Long Moto Jacket- This is one of those nice, thick jackets that should be pricy, but because it's from Old Navy, you can get it for a steal. My store had it in black and red, and I just saw that it also comes in a pretty blush color, and oh my goodness, I love it even more!! This is a great quality coat for a fraction of the price of most nice coats.

IMG_6961.jpg

Plush Turtleneck Tunic- This tunic will be my uniform this fall. I LOVE THIS! The all caps were necessary because I can't express to you in text how much I love this tunic. It is SO soft, the perfect length to wear with leggings or skinny jeans, and such a cute style!

IMG_6963.jpg

Plush Turtleneck Tunic 2- I tried it on in this pretty wine color too. However, I actually ended up buying the green one pictured above and a charcoal gray color that I did not get a picture of. It comes in 6 colors, and I want to own one of each. I will definitely get my money's worth out of this cute tunic!

IMG_6962.jpg

Blanket Scarf- I have never owned a blanket scarf, and when I saw this, I knew I had to get it. I absolutely love how chunky it is, and I love the colors. Don't you think they are perfect for fall? It comes in 13 other prints too, and I love so many of them!

IMG_6965.jpg

Stevie Ponte Knit Pants- Have you heard of these?? They are called pants, but they feel like extremely comfortable leggings. Ummm, teachers (and every working woman), please order these. You will want to wear them every single day.

IMG_6966 2.jpg

Rockstar Jeggings- If you don't have these yet, do yourself a favor and get them now! I have black, white, several shades of blue, navy, and gray. I tried on this sateen pair yesterday, but you can click here if you're interested in a classic blue pair.

IMG_6967.jpg

Suede Block Heel Booties- I loved these the second I saw them. They are such a classic pair of booties that will go with everything! They were really hard to show you in a picture when I had them on, so I also took a picture of them on the shelf. There are several colors, and I don't think you could go wrong with any of them. Also, I didn't see these in the store, but I just found these  suede tassel zip booties online, and they are adorable too!

IMG_6964.jpg
IMG_6970.jpg

Navy Swing Dress- I have this in 2 colors and seriously considered getting this navy one. It's one of those dresses you can wear for so many different occasions.

IMG_6968.jpg

Mock Neck Sweater Swing Dress- I think this was the only thing I tried on that I did not like. I love it on the hanger and I love the mock neck, but it was too long and swingy on me.

IMG_6969.jpg

I also feel the need to include these dresses that I already have because I think they are fall must-haves, and I have each style in 2 colors!

Wednesday Wishlist: Fall Items for Under $50

I haven't done a Wednesday Wishlist in a while, and this one is a little different from my usual posts. I typically include quite a few things from one retailer. Today I've rounded up 15 items from all over the web, but what is the same about all of them is that they are each under $50!

Layered Coin Necklace

Moto Leggings (have and love the olive ones, now I want black)

St. Tropez Self Tan Bronzing Mousse

Batiste Dry Shampoo

Kendra Scott Bracelet

I will share some pictures below of the items included on this list that I already own and love. Sometimes it helps to see things on real people, instead of just the models!

Leopard Print Love

Before last year, you could not have paid me to wear leopard print... until I found a leopard print dress that I fell in love with, which then lead me to a leopard print scarf. And now this year, I am full on accepting my love of all things leopard print! Plus, it’s super on trend, so why not?! Today I'm sharing 5 leopard print items I've gotten lately, and 3 of the 5 items (the first 3) are under $35!

1. Dress- I got so lucky with this dress. The first one I got was black. Someone put it back in the wrong spot, and it was the only one I could find in the whole store, and it just so happened to be my size. I have loved my black one so much that when this leopard print one went on sale, my mom got it for me! It is such a flattering dress that is surprisingly very nice quality for the price. And of course I love the ruffle sleeves!

2. Booties- Pictured below is the black dress I was telling you about above. It can be styled in countless ways. However, one of my favorite ways I've worn it so far is with these leopard print booties! They look and feel so much more expensive than they actually are!

3. Scarf- I stumbled upon this scarf in store, and it was $10, so I had to get it. It adds a little bit of fun to any simple outfit that needs a little something extra!

4. Jeans- These jeans are the newest item I've added to my leopard print collection, and I am so excited to share them with you! They're currently marked down from $118 to $69.95, and I just simply couldn't pass them up. They are just so fun, comfortable, and easy to style!

5. Cardigan- I spotted this cardigan a couple months ago, tried it on, and put it back on the rack because of the price. However, before I left the store, I decided to put back 2 of the other items I was planning on getting and got this cardigan instead. I knew I would immediately regret it if I didn't get it. It's so comfy, and I'm excited to actually get to wear it now that it's getting cooler.

Bonus- First Leopard Print DressThis was my first leopard print item I ever owned! I saw it last year and loved the style of the dress so much that I knew I had to have it (even though I was pretty scared of leopard print at the time). I can't find the exact leopard print anymore. However, I have linked up the dress, and it comes in several different colors and prints. I have the leopard print one pictured below, as well as one in a blue snake print. I absolutely love the solid ones and also have my eye on this zebra print one. It's such a well-made dress that I know will be in my closet forever!

What are your thoughts on leopard print? I believe mine are pretty obvious. :) Thanks so much for reading! Have a great day!

Dressing Your Babies and Toddlers for Back to School, Fall, and the Holidays!

My friend Sarah is back for her second time guest blogging on Art Fashion Fun today! If you missed her first post, click here to check it out- How to Make Your Southern Babies and Toddlers Look Like They Stepped Out of a Boutique Without Paying Boutique Prices!. I can talk all things fashion for women, but when it comes to babies and toddlers, I don't have a clue. Therefore, I'm excited to let Sarah share her wealth of knowledge! So with that, I'm going to let her take it away!

My pledge sister recently texted me this: "Hey buddy! How are you? Come visit soon!!! I am so excited I am having a girl soon. I need to dress her as cute as you do. Where should I look for her? You have the best taste!" I thought... Me? Omg. What a compliment. I wanted to tell her all of my secrets immediately!

This is how I responded... OMG, you're too sweet. You made my day. Here is my list....

My online favorites:

*Tip: Smocked Auctions is an awesome site and gives you "points when you buy." Once you have enough points you use them for free clothes! Genius!

Favorite groups to join on Facebook:

IMG_6719.jpg

*More about Flirtees: A local Huntsville lady named Susie Fortner (Flirtees4u@gmail.com) personalizes shirts and dresses for 0-12 year olds and cheerleader outfits for your favorite team!!

Brands:

*The key is to bargain shop and buy from other moms online. You can get things that you would normally get at a boutique for like $20 or less. It's in the details! Simple is best in my opinion! A big bow and cute socks/shoes to compliment the outfit ties it all together.

Home shows to go to: If you have a rep in your area, go see the clothes. You don't have to buy everything you see! I usually go and buy one super cute outfit, and they always last!

  • Red Beans
  • The Beaufort Bonnet Company
  • Alice Kathleen
  • Shrimp and Grits
  • Shades Kids
  • Matilda Jane

Here is a breakdown:

Dresses: SO many online boutiques have lots of back to school options. Cecil and Lou is among my favorite for online choices, but they can take a while to ship, especially if it's a pre-order or if you get it monogrammed. My advice- go ahead and get it and let a local person monogram! Smockingbird Clothing is among my favorites as well. They ship fast and have great options for back to school and fall! I love reds, greens, blues, and of course pinks for fall. Also, invest in a super cute blouse for layering and putting under dresses and jumpers (Shrimp and Grits has the cutest IMO). Also, monogram the collar if you can. I also LOVE corduroy smocked dresses and jumpers in the fall!

Janie- Cecil and Lou, Anne Byrom- The Smocking Bug

Janie- Cecil and Lou, Anne Byrom- The Smocking Bug

Bubbles: Cecil and Lou, Smockingbird, Smocked Overstocks (Shrimp and Grits at a discount), also Smocking Hot Mamas Facebook group (the one that says without entitlement). You can search at the top for whatever you want, whether it be Matilda Jane size 6, boys bubble 3 months, or Hunter Boots. You can get deals from these moms who are purging! I get the majority of my girls' clothes this way! Also, I love Shades Kids- online or a local rep.

IMG_6723.jpg

Shoes: CHUS!!!! These are the new craze, and they're amazing! They are like Keds but cuter because they have a bow (removable), and they come in almost every color imaginable (pictured below in red). Livie and Luca has the cutest boots too! Also, Uggs for fall/winter and Saddle Oxfords for boys and girls!! I love love love pink and brown saddle oxfords on girls. It took me a while to get used to this, but it's so precious and PERFECT with tall socks for fall/colder weather and the School Girl look.

IMG_0792.JPG

Socks: Jeffries eyelet socks and Jeffries tall socks! Get the thicker ones bc the thin ones wear quickly. Also, get a cute tiny monogram on the top of the socks! (Online or local Boutiques)

IMG_0989.JPG
IMG_1625.JPG

Bows: Wee Ones Bows- local boutique or online! Every color and every size! (bow size depends on age)

IMG_0860.JPG

Shirts and Bottoms: Blanks Boutique! You can get long sleeve blanks shirts, long sleeve dresses and also a variety of colors in corduroy pants to match. Shrimp and Grits has cute pants/tops outfits for boys and girls, as well as Smocked Auctions, Cecil and Lou, Smockingbird, and Mini Boden.

IMG_0852.JPG

Coats: You can't go wrong with any style Widgeon Coat (pictured below) or a classic pea coat! Angel Dear also has darling options.

TEAM Spirit!

Roll Tide, War Eagle, Hotty Toddy, Go Dawgs, or Go Bulldogs? I dress my girls in Alabama gear every Friday during football season, and I love it! Check out Smocked Auctions, Cecil and Lou, and other online places for cute bubbles, dresses, and shirts. Like I mentioned earlier, Flirtees also has really great options (as shown in the first picture below)!

*How To Purge*

I've tried selling on Facebook sites, selling on local sites, creating my own page for selling locally, Bagsy online, selling to friends and friends of friends, donating to my children's preschool... but I still have A TON!

I have also recently tried consigning at a local shop. I hung dresses on hangers (they even told me they'd give me some if I swing by- which is amazing because all of my hangers are full), folded up Pjs and whatever else doesn't need to hang, and I dropped it off! It was so, so easy! I drop off about once a month, and they send me a check in the mail. I also find things in there I want to buy, so it works out!

Thank you so much to Sarah for all your hard work and time spent on this post! Are her 2 girls (and their outfits) not the cutest things you've ever seen?! We would love to hear from you! Anthropologie Sale Picks + Weekly Recap

Anthropologie Sale Picks

IMG_6658.jpg

I woke up to a text from my mom yesterday saying that Anthropologie was having a sale! We've had our eye on a few things at Anthropologie for a while now, so I made a trip to Memphis yesterday to check it out. There were so many things I wanted. Of course. I ended up with 3 items that I will share with you below!

Dresses- 25% off

Plaid Tunic Dress- LOVE this one. Fall dresses are just so easy to throw on and go. Plus, they are so great to wear during this never-ending summer to fall transition period.

IMG_6659.jpg

Hutch Dress- I grew to love the brand Hutch while working at my boutique job in Arkansas. This Hutch dress was a little long for me, but I still think it is such a pretty dress. It's so well made, and I love the mock neck.

IMG_6661.JPG

Ruffle Sleeve Dress- I tried this dress on a while back, and it is now marked down to under $95! It is a really soft material and also comes in black and red.

IMG_4160 2.jpg

Fluttered Tunic Dress- I bought this dress earlier this season, and you can now get it for 25% off! I talked more about this dress in this blog post. I absolutely love it!

IMG_6310.jpg

Off the Shoulder Dress- This picture is actually from a trip to Anthropologie I took in the spring. At the time, I actually ended up getting this dress in red. I stumbled upon this green one yesterday, and it was marked down from $148 to $39.95. I got one for Ebie and one for me. That is a steal!

IMG_0072.jpg

Tops- 20% off

Ruffled Cowl Neck Pullover- It was love at first sight when I spotted this sweater. It was the first thing I saw when I walked in the door, and I immediately knew I had to have it. The details are so much prettier in real life. It's like a sand color with gold specks, and the ruffles are just too cute! I had to include 2 pictures to make sure you can see all of the ruffles! Thanks so much mama for this treat during YOUR birthday month! I know you will love yours too! Mailing it TODAY!

IMG_6665.jpg
IMG_6666.jpg

Ruffled Hem Pullover- If I had unlimited funds, I would have gotten this sweater too. Love the length and ruffle hem!

IMG-6670.JPG

Leopard Print Cardigan- This cardigan that I got at the beginning of the season is now marked down $30! It's a good one!

IMG_4708.jpg

Eri and Ali V-Neck Top- I cannot find this top online yet, but it is adorable. I will be looking for it to hit the web so I can update you. It comes in several colors and reminds me of my Free People thermal.

IMG_6668.jpg

Bottoms- 15% off

Spanx Faux Leather Leggings- If you don't have these yet, grab them while they are on sale! They are so fabulous, comfortable, and flattering. I love that Anthropologie now carries them.

IMG_6065.jpg

Leopard Skinny Jeans- My love of all things leopard continues! I grabbed these leopard skinny jeans yesterday because they were marked down from $118 to $69.95. I am aware they look AWFUL with the outfit I have on here. However, I'm going to style them this weekend with either my black or white Lush tunic, and I have a feeling I am going to be obsessed.

IMG_6664.jpg

I'm so excited about the 3 things (this sweater, this dress, these jeans) I got yesterday, and I definitely have my eye on several other sweaters and dresses. It's a shame money doesn't grow on trees. :) Click here to check out the sale for yourself!

Three Things Thursday

I believe the three things I'm sharing with you today are the three most different things I could have ever put together in one post. However, they are three things I've been wanting to share with you lately, so I thought what better way to share them than in a Three Things Thursday post?

Outfit Details: Shirt // Jeans // Shoes *Thanks so much to Mary Catherine for the help with this photo! :)

Outfit Details: Shirt // Jeans // Shoes *Thanks so much to Mary Catherine for the help with this photo! :)

1. Dry Shampoo- I know I am so late to this game. My roommate used this stuff back in college, and I was never a fan. Now, I have heard from 62 hairdressers how bad it is that I wash my hair every night. I do not like the texture of dry shampoo, and I like going to sleep knowing that I have clean hair. However, after my haircut last week and hearing the same ole speech I always get from hairdressers, I started testing out dry shampoo options.

The two I found at Walmart are Dove and Herbal Essences. I put up a poll on my Instagram account (@artfashionfun) asking which one people preferred, and I got quite a bit of feedback (which is my #1 favorite part about blogging- I LOVE hearing from you!).

The results:

So far, I have used the Dove one once and Herbal Essences once, and I didn't like either. I think it's going to take me a while to get used to this whole concept of not washing my hair and spraying a product in there. I'm going to try Batiste soon, and I'm hoping I will like that one better.

One product I did buy and LOVE is Garnier Fructis Volumizing Mousse. You put it in your hair while your hair is still damp, and it's supposed to help with volume. I'm throwing this product in with the dry shampoo, although it is not dry shampoo. It is just the one hair product that I actually like and wanted to include.

IMG_6523.JPG

2. Jesus Calling- In this day and age, people seem to be constantly busy. It is really easy to put our prayer life on hold while we make a cup of coffee, throw on our makeup, and race off to work. Sometimes it is hard to make yourself sit down and focus on the bible because that takes a lot of time and concentration (for me anyway). I picked up my Jesus Calling book several years ago, and it has been something that makes getting in a little prayer time easy. I know it is not new by any means, but if you find yourself wanting to make time for prayer, pick up a Jesus Calling book.

I honestly do not understand how it is so relatable every. single. day. But it is. It is a daily devotional, and I have been using it for several years now. I also picked up a copy of Jesus Always last year. It is another daily devotional written by the same author. I read Jesus Calling in the morning and Jesus Always at night. Both books provide easy ways to get in some quiet time.

IMG_6524.JPG

3. Dog Costumes- I told y'all this post included the 3 most random things you could ever put together! But oh my goodness, I have come to the conclusion that nothing in life makes me laugh harder than dogs in costumes. I mean like laugh so hard I cry. My family thinks its cruel and torturous. Bailey and Rosie do too. We do not leave them on for long, but for the few seconds these pups turn into lions, pumpkins, or witches, I die.

Parker and I always laugh at the Amazon commercial where the dog is dressed in a lion costume.... so without telling me, Parker ordered 2 lion manes from Amazon. He put one on Bailey, and I bet you could hear my laughter from Southaven, Mississippi. She despises costumes, and lucky for her, the lion mane is too big, and she got it off so easily. But for the first minute it was on her, she sat 100% still and looked up at us with the face you will see below.

What do y'all think about dry shampoo, Jesus Calling, and pet costumes? (Insert laughing emojis here.) As I mentioned earlier, hearing from you is my favorite thing about this blog, so always feel free to comment, email, or send me any type of message! Thanks so much for reading! Have a great day!

Fall Boot Guide

One of my best friends made my day the other day by texting me to ask for some fashion advice in regards to boots. So today I'm sharing a roundup of my favorite boots across the web, as well as the ones I own!

Leather Riding Boots:

I got these Sam Edelman riding boots in black and brown last year. They have been my most worn boots, and I can't say enough positive things about them! I also love my Tory Burch riding boots. However, they are not currently on sale, so they are pricy at the moment.

Suede Riding Boots:

The suede boots I own are these Jack Rogers Suede Boots. I love them, and I also just stumbled upon these black Jack Rogers boots when writing this post. They are marked down from $298 to $149.99, and oh my goodness, I think I NEED them!

Over the Knee Boots:

I have these black OTK boots for $39.99, and my friend ended up getting these.

IMG_6209 2.jpg

Rain Boots:

I have these glossy green Hunter boots and these Jack Rogers rain boots! Also, this dress is on sale plus an additional 30% off today with code THANKYOU. That makes it $20.30! I have it in 2 colors and am seriously considering a third for that price!

Am I missing any? I'm going to have to do a separate post for booties because there are too many cute ones to include in today's boot post. What are your favorite boots? Thanks so much for reading! Have a great day!

My Lilly Sale Purchases

I know this post is long overdue. However, my Lilly Sale purchases all finally just got to me 2 weeks ago! My second order arrived the same week that I ordered it. However, my first order arrived a month after I purchased it. I'm not complaining because I can't for the prices I paid. Just stating a fact.

What I was mainly going for during this sale was sweaters that I would be able to wear this fall and winter. You will see below that I had success in the sweater department! I did not pay more than $70 for any of the items I bought, and that includes the cashmere sweaters! Most of my items were actually under $50, and if you are familiar with Lilly Pulitzer, then you know that is quite a deal!

I had so much fun chatting with several of you who also shopped this sale. Some people got through the virtual line in no time, and some people were stuck in it for hours. I got in line on my laptop and my phone right around the same time, and I was able to get into the sale on my phone almost immediately and had to wait for over an hour for my laptop to connect. I'm still pretty confused about how the line works. However, I was pleasantly surprised that Lilly had no technical difficulties this year! Usually the site crashes and no one can shop for a while. As far as I know, that didn't happen this year, so that is exciting news for Lilly (and us too)!

This sale was such a big deal because Lilly does not have a sale section on their website. They never mark down their merchandise, aside from the 2 sales they hold a year. The next one will be in January, so I'm glad we have a little while to rest before the chaos of the sale returns, and we get to shop for highly marked down Lilly pieces again!

Now onto what I got...

Ramona Sweater- I had not ever seen this sweater until the sale, but as soon as I saw it, I knew I had to get it. The length, fringe, and material are all so fabulous. However, my favorite part is the gold buttons going down the sides! So many great details in this sweater! And it fits true to size.

You can see the buttons better in this shot!

You can see the buttons better in this shot!

Sweater Wrap(Another similar option)- My exact sweater is no longer available, so I have linked up something similar. I love sweaters like this because you can throw them on for chilly nights in the spring, when you go into restaurants in the summer, and you can also continue wearing them with jeans in the fall!

IMG_6479.jpg

Bright Pink Cardigan- The color of this cardigan is so fabulous! The one I have linked is not the same exact cardigan as the one I own. However, the color is the same. I think it is so fun and brings a little more happiness to the day than a typical neutral colored cardi.

Turquoise Cardigan (Another similar option)- This exact cardigan is now gone. However, I have linked 2 similar ones that are both long cardigans and pretty turquoisey colors. I love how it can be worn in several different seasons! I think it's just as cute with white jeans as it is with leggings or black jeans!

Bright Pink Tank- After ordering all the sweaters I shared with you above, I decided to go back for a second order and purchase some tanks to go underneath the sweaters. I absolutely adore the color, fringe, and material of this one. However, after getting my order, I realized that I had never bought a tank from Lilly before, and I got my size wrong in their tanks. I find that I wear my regular size in all of their clothes, except for tanks. I will size down a full size from here on out in Lilly tanks because the two I ordered have arm holes that are way too big for me and a lot of extra fabric. Also, I don't know what this lighting is in my office, but it's making me 100 shades tanner than I actually am, so I'll take it!

IMG_6482.JPG

White Silk Tank- My exact tank is now gone, so I have linked up a similar white tank. Again, I ordered my regular size and should have gone down a size, but I will remember that info for the next big sale! Plus, my plan is to wear these under cardigans anyway, so I don't think it's too obvious that the arm holes are double the size they're supposed to be when they're covered by a cardigan. :)

Tunic Dress- I only purchased one dress this year and this is it! The bright colors, style, sleeves and tassels sold me on this one. Lilly dresses are so easy to throw on and go with a pair of sandals in the spring and summer. I always get a lot of wear out of them!

Pajama Pants- I have shared before that I have a thing with pajama pants. I love them. However, I'm going to tell y'all the truth. These aren't as good as PJ Harlows. Click here to check out that blog post and see my all time favorite pjs. I do like these Lilly ones, and I think the pattern is adorable. However, the material and high waist of my PJ Harlows are just better than these Lilly pajamas.

Did you shop the big Lilly sale? How did your purchases fit?! It's always scary to not be able to return your purchases, but the sale prices are just too amazing to be able to pass them up! Thanks so much for reading! Have a great day!
