Easter Essentials

Can you believe Easter is this coming weekend?! Lots of people say Christmas is their favorite holiday, but Easter is my favorite. In addition to it being the holiest day of the year in the Christian faith, it involves precious time with family, beautiful pastel colors, Reese’s eggs, pretty dresses, spring weather, Lilly Pulitzer, and Easter basket fun! 

I have been traveling so much lately that I am very excited about spending Easter weekend in Southaven with Parker, Bailey, and Rosie. Parker and I love planning out our holidays, so today I’m sharing some Easter essentials with you that will be included in our Easter celebration!

What's in my Makeup Bag

I'm going to start this post by saying that makeup is not my specialty, and I definitely like a more natural look. However, I have finally found products and a makeup routine that I really like! And I always find it interesting when people share their makeup products and routines, so I thought I'd share mine with you today! 

Outfit Details- Dress // Earrings

For the Face

-Moisturizer: Nivea Soft Moisturizing Creme

-Primer: Neutrogena Healthy Skin Primer

-Foundation: Beautycounter Dew Skin (shade No. 2), Garnier BB Cream (shade Light/Medium), or Neutrogena Healthy Skin Liquid Makeup (shade 40 Nude) 

-Bronzer: Clinique True Bronze Pressed Powder Bronzer

-Blush: Bobbi Brown Blush (pale pink)

Whether I am putting on no makeup or a full face of makeup, I put my moisturizer on morning and night. I used to only wear Bobbi Brown, but once I tried the Nivea one linked above, I never looked back. It is way less expensive and just as good in my opinion. I have recently added a Primer into my routine. Neutrogena sent one to me, and I put it all over my face after my moisturizer has soaked into my skin. It's supposed to help makeup apply more smoothly and last longer.

Next, I put on either BeautyCounter Dew Skin, Neutrogena liquid foundation, or Garnier BB cream with a damp knockoff beautyblender (that little orange sponge pictured above). Beautycounter Dew Skin is my favorite and what I use most often. It is very natural looking and also has SPF 20 in it. Next, I put on my bronzer and blush. I don't have any concealer, but Tarte Shape Tape is on my birthday wishlist! 

For the Eyes

-Eyeshadow: Urban Decay Naked2 Palette

-Eye Base- Bobbi Brown

-Eyeliner: NYX Eyeliner

-Eyelash Curler

-Mascara: Neutrogena, Covergirl, or Too Faced 

-Lash & Brow Comb

-Brow Contour: NYX Sculpt and Highlight Brow Contour

-Brow Gel: Anastasia Tinted Brow Gel

I always apply my eye makeup after I finish my face makeup. I have a long-wear eye base by Bobbi Brown, but I typically skip this step and just use my foundation. Then I use the Naked 2 eye shadow palette. I have been using this palette for over 3 years now and love the colors!

After eyeshadow, I use NYX eyeliner. Then, I curl my eyelashes and put on mascara. I rotate between Neutrogena, Covergirl, and Too Faced. I use the lash and brow comb to separate my eyelashes because I despise clumpy mascara. Last, I'll fill in my brows with NYX Brow Contour before I apply Anastasia brow gel.

For the Lips

-Chapstick: Blistex Lip Medex

-Lip Color: NYX Powder Puff Lippie (in color Squad Goals)

-Lip Gloss: NYX Butter Gloss (in colors Tiramisu, Angel Food Cake, Creme Brûlée, Vanilla Cream Pie, and Strawberry Cheesecake)

-Setting Spray: Mario Badescu Facial Spray

If you follow me on Instagram, you have heard me go on and on and on about NYX butter gloss. I now have it in 5 colors- Tiramisu, Angel Food Cake, Creme Brûlée, Vanilla Cream Pie, and Strawberry Cheesecake. The price is so reasonable, the colors are so pretty, and it actually feels good!

Also, I just recently purchased Mario Badescu facial spray. I heard a blogger say that if you're going to spend your time putting on makeup, you might as well do what you can to make it last. So I bought this stuff to use as a setting spray, and it smells SO good! It's not for your lips, but I wanted to put it in the last category since I spray it after I have finished putting my makeup on.

The Final Product

Like I said, I'm not a beauty expert, but I have found that I feel better when I have some makeup on. I'm going to be 29 in a few weeks. Better late than never to learn about makeup, right?!

Fun, Flirty, & Flattering White Jeans

All You Need to Know About a Honeymoon Shower

A few years ago, my friend Caroline introduced me to the idea of a Honeymoon Shower. She was the first person I've ever known to have one of these parties, and I LOVED the idea! I copied Caroline and also had a Honeymoon Shower before Parker and I got married. We had Ebie's Bachelorette Party last weekend in Nashville, and we decided to do the same thing for her!

If you're curious about what a honeymoon shower is, I'll fill you in! It is a party where a bride-to-be is showered with gifts that she can use on her honeymoon (and well after)! This party can be given in place of a lingerie shower during the bachelorette party.

The fun part was that Ebie had no idea what any of our plans were for the weekend. Her flight got in Saturday morning, so we kicked off her festivities with a Brunch & Honeymoon Shower at her friend Natalie's house!

Before Ebie got there, we set up the decorations and got the food and drinks ready. We had a mimosa and bloody mary bar, but I only have pictures from before it was actually set up (whoops). 

Natalie also added some nice touches, like place cards, her fine china, flowers, and cute napkins!

Another friend thought to decorate Ebie's chair. So cute and fun!

Another friend brought a veil and sash to make the bride feel extra special!

Of course the fun part was showering Ebie with gifts that she can use on her honeymoon!

Unfortunately, I didn't get a picture of all of Ebie's gifts after she opened them. However, I have some of them at my house right now, so keep scrolling to see a picture!

Ebie's friends also made it more fun by adding in a couple of games after she opened her gifts!

Maid of Honor duties include taking lots of pictures for the scrapbook! But getting one with the bride was also a requirement!

10 Things Tuesday: Spring Things Under $100

I have a blog post about Ebie's honeymoon shower coming soon, but I'm excited to share a 10 Things Tuesday post today! These posts are typically pretty short and sweet, but it takes me a while to decide on my 10 things. I go to all of my favorite retailers' websites and check out all of their new arrivals. I put all of my favorite things in a folder, and the hard part is narrowing it down to just 10 things! I'm excited about today's roundup though!

I wore the shirt pictured above in Nashville last weekend. I knew it was going to make the cut for today's post. It is the perfect top to wear right now while our weather is a little cooler than usual. But the bright and happy color makes it perfect for spring!

I paired it with my new white jeans that also made the cut in today's 10 things. I have so many things to say about these jeans that I have an entire post dedicated to them. It is coming soon, but I can assure you they are fabulous (my mom, sister, and I all have and love them)!

The Cutest $25 Dress for Spring

I have now mentioned this dress in 3 blog posts, shared it twice on Instagram, and worn it multiple times. I clearly love it. When I find things I love that are so reasonably priced, I like to give them their own blog post. Some things I have already done this with are NYX butter gloss and Pierre Dumas wedges.

As the title says, the dress I'm talking about today is $25! It looks so much more expensive than that! So I obviously had to get both colors. :) It is lined, so it isn't see through. And the ruffle sleeves are adorable! It comes in light blue and dark gray. I honestly thought the dark gray was black when I tried it on, but it is called dark gray.

It also comes with a belt. I found it more flattering without the belt. It does run big though. I sized down to a small, so I do suggest sizing down.

It can easily be dressed up with some wedges or heels, or it can be dressed down with some sandals. I wore it to my friend's Stock the Bar party with wedges and also plan on wearing it to dinner with sandals.
