Brands I Love: Jack Rogers

For my second post in the Brands I Love series, I am sharing all about Jack Rogers, my very favorite brand of shoes. Although I was a little late to the game in learning about Jack Rogers, once I discovered them, I never looked back.

All credit for my love of this brand goes to my adorable roomie I had the privilege of living with when teaching in Huntsville. Molly gifted all of her bridesmaids a pair of Jack Rogers (among other generous things). Not only did our classic gold Jacks look fab with our comfy monogrammed sleep shirts she gave us, but they also paired beautifully with the black bridesmaid dresses we wore to her wedding. BEST GIFTS EVER. Thanks again to you Molly for introducing me to such a fabulous brand!

On their website, Jack Rogers describes their products in this way- "They're the pieces that take you from an afternoon bike ride to evening cocktails and the ones you never forget to pack, wherever you're headed. A pop of color, an unexpected detail, a feeling of coming home...no matter where you are, that's Jack Rogers."

If you have been following Art Fashion Fun, you have seen me wearing several different styles of Jack Rogers. And you also know that my number 1 favorite pair of shoes in the world is the Marbella Mid Wedge in platinum. I love them so much that I have two pairs of this exact shoe. They are a classic pair of shoes that completes so many different outfits. The color is perfect, and my other favorite part is the height. The 2.5 inch wedge heel makes them tall enough to give you a little lift, but low enough to make them a comfortable shoe to wear all day long. I actually choose to wear these over sandals that are completely flat when deciding on a shoe that I know I will be wearing all day long. I have found that the wedge gives your foot more support than a completely flat shoe.

The gold sandal Molly gave me and the Marbella Mid Wedge are just two of the many pairs of Jack Rogers that I own and love. My mom and I are always checking out their latest styles, and when they go on sale, we purchase! Vacation Photo Log: Last Day + Outfit Roundup

Ok y'all, today is the last day of my vacation photo log, and I am pretty sad about this because it means vacation is officially over. On our last day in Orange Beach, we had a relaxing pool day. And my dad came down to join us! After we soaked up the last bit of sun at the pool, we went to Florabama for the final time. If you haven't been on a Friday or Saturday night and seen Jack play, I highly suggest it. I will warn you- his show is not rated PG13, but he will make you laugh harder than you have in a while.

After a final bushwhacker, we walked over to the Florabama Yacht Club and were treated to our last fresh seafood meal by my dad. I thought nothing could top our meal at Sunset Grille. However, this meal was the winner of our vacation. The chargrilled oysters and grouper were to die for. Missing that fresh seafood already.

We headed home after dinner and came back to Southaven the next morning.  So today, I am sharing photos from our last day of vacation with you and also rounding up all of my vacation looks and linking them to the places where I got them. Vacation Photo Log: Day 6

Today's agenda started with a boat ride to Pirate's Cove for a burger and a bushwhacker. However, with the wind blowing about 8000 mph, we eventually decided to give up on our original plan and head to Sunset Grille. This change of plans was disappointing at first because we were excited about Pirate's Cove, but the food and bushwhacker plus floater at Sunset Grille was fabulous. And quite possibly our very favorite meal of the trip. The sauteed crab claws, grouper bites, and smoked tuna dip definitely made up for what we missed out on at Pirate's Cove. By the time we left Sunset Grille, it was around 4:oo, so we headed back to the condo to spend the rest of the day at the pool. Later on, we walked over to Florabama for a drink and a lap or two around the place. This was Thursday night, and it was jam packed. There were tons of people on every dance floor in front of all 3 bands. People-watching at Florbama has to be close to the best people-watching ever. Vacationing for a week straight will wear you out though, so we finished our drinks and headed home a little earlier this night.

Although it may appear I have been overserved, this is actually my second out of two drinks of the day. I was just cracking up because I was trying to get Parker to take a picture WITH me, but he is so used to taking solo shots of me for the blog that he thought I wanted to take one right there by myself in the Florabama in front of everyone. Solo shots can be seriously awk. On another note, outfit details... currently loving this shirt. I have it in two colors and can't get enough of it!

Vacation Photo Log: Day 5

What better way to start out our time in Orange Beach than walking to Waffle House for breakfast? Or maybe we should call it brunch since we got there after 11:00. And then spent the whole rest of our day on the beach (applying SPF 50 every half hour- what has happened to me?). Of course we had to hit Florabama too. So we walked over there around 8:00. It was about as crowded as you would imagine it to be on a Wednesday night. However, by about 10:00, the place was bumping. On a Wednesday night. You can see for yourself in the photos below. Around this time, Parker and I ordered up some grouper bites and fish tacos and ate right there at the Florabama. It did not disappoint either. Y'all, I LOVE THE BEACH!

Good thing Parker doesn't read my blog posts, so he won't know I documented the break he had to take lugging the beach cart back home. :) In all honesty, that thing is heavy and HARD to pull in the sand, but so worth it.

Parker won the ring toss game 6 times. I hit it zero times out of about 7000 tries. Seriously annoying.

Vacation Photo Log: Day 4

Day 4 was spent packing and traveling from Gap Lake to Orange Beach, so I'm sort of lacking in the fashion department for the majority of this day. I'll share what I've got though! We got to Orange Beach mid afternoon and wanted to get our pups adjusted to the new place where we're staying (my parents' condo) before running out on them. So, I wore my travel clothes all day until I took a shower, shot some photos for a post coming soon, and then got ready for sushi at Master Joe's. If you are ever in the Orange Beach or Fairhope area and searching for the best sushi in the world, I highly suggest you check out Master Joe's. The sushi pizza is something that everyone needs to try at some point during their lifetime.

Vacation Photo Log: Day 3

We are getting used to this vacation lifestyle. Starting our days out slowly with coffee on the screened in porch and ending our days with booze cruises on the pontoon boat... the best! And of course we have thrown in some pool games and time to soak up the sunshine in between. We have truly enjoyed our time at Gap Lake. I have been living in bathing suits, beach coverups, and pajamas, so you won't see much else. Maybe you will on our next stop in Orange Beach? It could be more of the same bathing suit-beach coverup-pj-ponytail- no makeup look. It's not fun lugging around the ridiculous amount of hang up clothes I brought and am getting zero use out of, but aside from that, I'm not hating it.

Vacation Photo Log: Day 1

Parker and I made a last minute decision to come on vacation this week before his work gets super busy, so I will be posting daily photo logs of our vacation plus outfit details this week.

We are starting out our week at Parker's family's house at Gap Lake. We lucked out in that we got to see our nephew play in a baseball tournament a short distance away from the lake in Panama City, so day 1 of vacation was spent at the ball park with Parker's family. Parker and his brother grew up playing baseball. His brother is now the assistant coach of our nephew's team, so we had a lot of fun getting to see Jack and Coach Russ in action for the first time. 

No comfier spot for an 8 hour drive than on top of a Tory Burch bag.

Loving Lately: Shoes

I think I can honestly say that this past season has been my most adventurous season, as far as branching out in the shoe department goes. I'm definitely the type of girl who has her favorites and sticks to them. The shoes I'm talking about today are shoes that I have gotten in the past month or two- some are totally my style, while others are totally new to me.

1. Marc Fisher Pomme Mules (click here to shop)

If you have read any of my recent posts or looked at any of my photos, you have seen these shoes on REPEAT. Mules are a trend that I never thought I would be interested in. I saw this pair and loved the color, scalloped topline, and cork block heel... and just like that, my opinion on mules changed. I think I have already gotten my money's worth because I have worn them so much. The color and style make them so easy to wear with countless outfits.

Also, my mom (on the far left) rants and raves about the shoes she is wearing. They are Korks Tome Cork Sling Back Wedges. They are on sale for 33% off at Belk. I have linked them here. I personally do not own a pair, but my mom has them, she bought a pair for my sister, and her friends bought them (and they LOVE them too). My mom says they are so comfortable and easy to walk in. My sister wears them to work frequently, and they have never hurt her feet. Looks like these might be the next shoes I purchase.

I found the shoes my sister (between my mom and me) is wearing at T.J. Maxx. They are now sold out, but we love them too! They didn't have them in my size. #annoying

2. Lucky Brand Organza Block Heel Sandal (click here to shop)

I don't have any pictures of me actually wearing this pair of shoes, or the next one, but that doesn't mean I love them any less than the others. These slip on sandals are so on-trend and have the perfect heel height to make them so comfortable for any activity. The padded insole and rubber bottoms are additional perks of this shoe. 3. Jack Rogers Baldwin Sneaker (click here to shop)

This is probably the pair of shoes that pushed me the furthest out of my comfort zone. However, I am now obsessed with them. I can't even count how many times my friends have made fun of me for wearing tennis shoes with jeans. Sometimes, a girl just wants to be comfortable! However, I think the jeans/ tennies look might be a thing of the past now that I have found these shoes. These Jack Rogers sneakers allow for comfort and style. Sneakers have been trending for a couple seasons, and I never found a pair I liked until Jack Rogers came out with this pair. I can't get enough of them!

4. Tory Burch Terra Thong Sandal (click here to shop)

These sandals are totally my style. I never questioned this pair. My mom got them for me for my birthday when Tory Burch was having a sale. They will be simple yet classic sandals I wear forever. 

5. Jack Rogers Marbella Mid Wedge (click here to shop)

Ok y'all, I think I could confidently go as far as saying that these are my #1 favorite pair of shoes I own. I actually have two pairs of this same exact shoe because I wear them so often. They are on sale right now, and I would say RUN to get them while the price is reduced! They are SO comfortable and the color goes with everything. The wedge is perfect- not too tall, not too short. So comfortable to wear all day long, even more comfortable than flats to me because the 2.5 inch wedge gives your foot support. I can't say enough good things about these shoes!

6. ASICS Duomax GT-1000 4 (click here to shop)

I had to include the tennis shoes I got for my birthday because I love them so much, and they are on sale! They have excellent support and the colors are too cute. They are a good neutral gray shoe with pops of pistachio and pink- love! I basically live in these (along with my GapFit leggings and college tshirts #noshame).
