My Favorite Sweater + A Dupe

The first time I saw this sweater, I knew I had to have it. I saw it on another blogger, and I immediately went to her Like to Know It page to find out all the details. I soon discovered that this sweater is made by my favorite brand of sweaters, Free People.

SHOP THE LOOK:

Tunic- Free People, Also here // Faux Leather Leggings: Spanx // Booties: Steve Madden // Earrings: J.Crew Factory // Hair Tie: J.Crew // Clutch: Moyna

Free People's price point is typically a little high (in my opinion), but you are definitely paying for the quality. The quality of this Free People tunic is superb. For some reason, the pictures I saw of it made me think it was made out of a fleecy material. My mom brought it up to me (best gift ever), and I soon realized it is not fleecy at all. The description says it is made out of a heavily ribbed ottoman knit fabric. Can't say I know exactly what that is, but I do know that I really like it!

Tunics are my favorite type of top to wear in the fall because their length typically allows me to wear leggings. This tunic certainly does that. The length, material, and mock neck are my favorite parts. I have actually seen people wearing it as a dress. For reference, I am around 5 foot 5, and it would not work as a dress on me. However, if you're shorter, it might work as a dress on you!

I paired mine with my favorite faux leather leggings, black booties, and black statement earrings. However, I also plan on wearing it with regular black leggings and riding boots. I think the bright pink color is so fun, but it also comes in several other cute colors. Pink is selling out quickly. However, several colors are still in stock at a few retailers. If you are looking for the perfect gift that any girl would love, this tunic is definitely a winner.

If the price point of this tunic is a little high for you, I found a pretty great dupe! The quality is definitely not as nice, but the appearance is very similar, and I actually bought it in navy!

SHOP THE LOOK:

Tunic: Old Navy, Similar (just size up for length) // Faux Leather Leggings: Spanx // Boots: Sam Edelman // Crossbody Bag: GiGi New York // Earrings: Nordstrom

Unfortunately this post is a couple of years old, so the dupe that I found is no longer available. However, this sweater is very similar. It’s just shorter. Size up to make it a little longer!

For size reference, I got the pink tunic in a size medium. And I am actually wearing an XL in the navy tunic to make it fit the way I wanted it to. I tried on a large, and it was too short and the mock neck did not lay properly. The XL gave me the length I was looking for, and (oddly enough) the mock neck laid right and looked a lot more like the much pricier Free People one.

I know my pink one will last me forever, and the navy one will not last nearly as long, but I absolutely love both of them!

Thanks so much for reading! Have a great day!

The Best Coat in 7 Colors

I am so excited to give this coat its own blog post today because it is such a great one! It is very nice quality and comes in 7 cute colors, which makes it really hard to decide which one to order. The price point is also reasonable compared to other similar coats! To make it even more affordable, it is on major sale today!!!! And free shipping!

(Sorry for the overload of !!!!!s. It is always exciting when something I have planned to post is on sale the day I post it!)

The J. Crew Factory coat that I am talking about today is almost identical to this J.Crew coat (pictured below) that is much pricier. The main difference is the pockets. And the enormous price difference. Aside from that, they are basically the same coat. And this one is also super similar.

IMG_7738.jpg

When I posted the picture of me in the green coat on Instagram, I got some questions about sizing because the reviews say it runs big. I totally agree with that review. However, I typically like my coats pretty big, so I can comfortably wear sweaters underneath them. I am usually between 2 sizes, and I went with the smaller size, and there is still plenty of room to fit layers underneath it. So if you are between 2 sizes, I would choose the smaller one.

Parker and I actually got the green one I am wearing for my mom's birthday gift. However, I knew I wanted to get one for myself too. I went to the store last week and tried on every color they had to decide which one I like best on me.

Before I tell you which one I chose for myself, I'm going to show you the pictures and see if you can guess which color is my favorite! Also, please ignore the dirty mirror that is causing spots to appear in funny places.  I am wearing this super soft plush turtleneck tunic, these leggings, and these boots in all the pictures below.

Did you guess that pink is my favorite?! I have always loved bright colors, but I have been loving bright pink even more than usual lately. So PINK is the color of the coat I like best for myself! My mom likes the green one best. Which color is your favorite?

Thanks so much for reading! Have a great day!

Wilson Weekend in Southaven

Last week, I talked about using my blog as a scrapbook to document fun memories because I have put the actual act of scrapbooking on the back burner lately. So today I want to share the details of last weekend when my family came to visit Parker and me for the first time in Southaven!

Friday

My mom, dad, and Ebie got to Southaven right before lunch on Friday, which is seriously impressive because it is about a 6 hour drive from Mobile. We visited for a little while, and I got to show them around our home! It's always so different seeing things in real life than it is over FaceTime or through pictures.

Then, they unloaded their car, and everybody was curious about the treats we got!

IMG_8129.jpg

Thanks Mama- so many amazing treats for us all! The one who should have gotten all the treats was my mom because we were throwing her a late birthday celebration. We snuck in a few festivities throughout the weekend.

IMG_8434.JPG

After an hour or so at home, we headed off to Germantown. We had lunch at Tazikis, which was delicious as always.

IMG_8420.JPG

Then, we went to The Shops of Saddle Creek, which is my very favorite place to shop. My mom needed to return something at J.Crew, so we started there and we did more than just return an item... They were having a sale, so we each got this hair tie and this white top (the one Ebie is holding) that I styled and talked all about in yesterday's post

IMG_8178.JPG

We didn't do too much shopping because my dad was with us, and we wanted to make sure he enjoyed his weekend too. So we went to a couple of other stores and then headed home to spend the rest of the day with Parker, Bailey, and Rosie.

IMG_8188.JPG

I also want to point out this top my mom brought for me. It is the cutest button up top that could be worn for so many different reasons. Everybody needs a good white top, and the pictures online do not do this one justice. I also found it on sale here.

Saturday

We spent the whole day Saturday at home, aside from a walk my mom and I went on. We don't have too many pictures of us because we were in our comfy clothes with no makeup on all day. I did try on my bridesmaid's dress for Ebie's wedding, so that was exciting!

Between football games, Parker pulled out all of our lunch food, and we enjoyed a gameday lunch of cowboy caviar, Chicken Salad Chick, boiled peanuts from Parker's dad, and some chicken Parker grilled. Kinda random, but delicious!

IMG_8424.JPG

The football games just so happened to be perfectly spaced out, so we all got to hang out together while we watched our teams play. Ebie got to watch the LSU game first, then Parker got to watch the Auburn game, and my mom, dad, and I got to watch the Alabama game last. All of our teams won, so that always makes the day more fun!

IMG_8198.PNG

We enjoyed some bourbon and coke zero during the Alabama game and the shakers came out! Anyone else still have shakers from college? They definitely brought us some laughter and fun!

IMG_8218.JPG
IMG_8429.JPG

I made seafood ettouffe for dinner. It doesn't look pretty, but it sure does taste good! And we enjoyed a cheesecake for my mom's birthday dessert later on!

Sunday

We had some pancakes for breakfast before my family packed up their bags. We took one final picture of our new hair ties because I wanted to show y'all how cute they are! Perfect stocking stuffer for girls of all ages!

Our weekend flew by way too quickly, as it always does. But now the countdown to Christmas begins!

Thanks so much for reading! I'll be back tomorrow with a Pre Black Friday Sales roundup! Have a wonderful weekend!

Pink and Sparkles for the Holidays

Because I wanted to enjoy every single second of the weekend I had with my family in Southaven, I decided to take Monday through Wednesday off of blog posts. I also wanted to use the past few days to prepare some holiday content for you!

I was going to share all about my weekend with my family today. However, because my outfit is on sale through tonight, I decided to switch the dates of the posts. This way you can take advantage of the sale prices before they end tonight, and a recap of my weekend with my family will be on the blog tomorrow!

Anyway, can you believe that Thanksgiving is one week from today, and then Christmas is right around the corner? Time is flying! I have a lot of holiday content and gift guides coming your way. So today, I decided to kick off these posts with my favorite holiday look thus far.

OUTFIT DETAILS: Top // Skirt // Shoes // Bracelets

As soon as I stumbled upon this skirt, I knew I had to have it. I honestly can't remember the last time I bought a skirt. However, this one was screaming my name, and I couldn't pass it up. The ruffles, the length, the COLOR... I love it all!

The first time I tried it on, I tried it with this top (which I love)...

801B1DB4-036E-4C92-BACD-A9DF4C2FC64A.JPG

and this top (which is so cute, but a little different from the one I linked)...

IMG_8436.JPG

I love both of them. However, when my family was visiting last weekend, we stumbled upon this white top, and this one was the winner for us. I adore the ruffles and scalloped lace trim. However, you can't go wrong with any of them, especially since they are all on sale today. You can get 25% off full price styles through tonight with code CHACHING. It is an online only promotion, and you can get free shipping if you spend $150+ or $5 flat rate shipping.

My mom, Ebie, and I all got the same white top with ruffles and scalloped lace trim. The details are so fabulous. But let me tell ya something- In this skirt, I sized down 2 sizes and still had plenty of extra room, so I was feeling pretty good about myself...

They didn't have my true size in the top, so I grabbed one size below and one size above to try on. I tried on the size above first, thinking it would be too big. Nope, too snug. So I had to go up 2 full sizes in the top. I was quickly brought back down to reality after the excitement of going down 2 sizes in the skirt.

I will make up any excuse to wear sparkle heels. So today, I am styling this skirt with a white top and sparkle heels. However, there are so many different things you can do with this skirt. When it cools down, throw it on with a black sweater, black tights, and black booties, and you have a totally different look.

My mom actually got this skirt too, but she got the gray one and is going to wear the same white top with it. Ebie and I have the same pink skirt and white top, so she will most likely try to twin with me when I'm home for Christmas.

This outfit makes me feel so festive and ready to attend some holiday parties!

IMG_8445.JPG

Have you started planning any outfits for the holidays yet? I'm clearly so excited about this one! Thanks so much for reading! Have a great day!

Loving Lately: LOFT (+ 40% off everything!)

I went to Memphis last week to pick up Parker's birthday present, and I thought I would run in and out of Loft real quickly while I was in town. I ran in, but it certainly wasn't a quick trip because I found SO many cute things! I will never buy anything full price at Loft because they have sales so often, so I tried all these things on and did not buy them because the only sale they were having at the time was $25 off pants.

So I saved this post for today because Loft is now having a 40% off everything sale with code HAPPY. I was so impressed with everything I tried on. I thought just about every dress I tried on would be perfect for Thanksgiving or any upcoming event. And I absolutely adore the 2 sweater tunics I tried on. I'm excited to finally share my finds with you today!

Plaid Knit Flounce Tunic- This dress is fabulous for those of us down south because no matter how warm it is in November and December, this dress isn't going to cause us to sweat. However, if it is cool, you can throw on some tights under it and a coat over it. The drop waist is my favorite part! This dress could be perfect for so many occasions.

IMG_8098.jpg

Lace Bell Sleeve Shift Dress- How perfect would this dress be for any holiday event? It is a shift dress with the prettiest lace bell sleeves that add a little something extra. So classy and cute!

IMG_8093.jpg

Windowpane Choker Dress- This dress is on sale plus an additional 40% off, so it is marked down from $80 to $33! Such a steal!

IMG_8088.jpg

Lou & Grey Hoodie Dress- Have y'all bought anything made by Lou & Grey? Everything I have tried in this line is SO soft and comfortable. I have been living in sweatshirt dresses lately, and this one is so cute with the stripes and bell sleeves!

IMG_8096.jpg

Shimmer Plaid Smocked Tie Neck Blouse- This blouse has such pretty details! I love the shimmer, but it's hard to see in the picture.

IMG_8087.jpg

Flecked Boatneck Tunic Sweater- LOVE this one! I have been loving tunics lately because they are so cute and comfortable to throw on with leggings. This one is so soft, and you can't really tell in the picture, but there are cute little colors mixed in with the gray. That's why they call it flecked.

IMG_8085.jpg

Heathered Cowlneck Tunic Sweater- Another fabulous tunic sweater that is soft and the prettiest shade of blue!

IMG_8086.jpg

Remember to use code HAPPY to get 40% off all these items. Do you see anything you like? I am trying to narrow down my cart because there are too many cute things!! Thanks so much for reading! Have a great day!

6 Fall Essentials

If you follow along with my blog posts, you could probably guess what these 6 essential fall items are. I'll give you a hint- there are 2 tunics, 2 pairs of leggings, and 2 pairs of shoes. I wear all of these items over and over again. 4 out of 6 items are under $40, and I love them all!

Tunics

Long and Lean Luxe Crewneck Tunic- You cannot have too many of these! You can wear them during every single season. They are perfect for layering right now and perfect with white jeans in the spring and summer!

IMG_8066.jpg

Perfect Roll Tab Sleeve Tunic- I got my first roll tab sleeve tunic a few months ago, and I wore it so much that I also purchased it in blue and black. This is also a great tunic to wear during any season. It can easily be dressed up or dressed down.

IMG_7987.JPG

Leggings

Zella Live In High Waist Leggings- I have never loved a pair of leggings more than these. They can be worn for exercise. However, they are my favorite pair of everyday leggings that I actually live in. The description calls them stretchy and figure sculpting, which is fabulous. However, my favorite part is the non-slip waistband. You don't have to constantly pull these up, and that in itself is worth it!

IMG_7650.JPG

BP Moto Leggings- I used to think pants like these were a little too edgy for me, but I am now questioning why I thought that because I love them! They look like pants but are actually the most comfortable high waisted leggings.

IMG_7354.jpg

Shoes

Taupe Wedges- I have received more messages about these shoes than anything else in my entire 6 months of blogging. Every single person that has messaged me has said they are obsessed with them. People have said they are the most comfortable shoes they have ever owned, and they don't want to take them off their feet, so they wear them around the house. They are so great and under $35!! Click here to go to my post that is all about these shoes. Or you can click the following words to check out the other colors: black // tan

IMG_7311.jpg

Sam Edelman Penny Boot- I have a whole blog post dedicated to these shoes too. I have had them for the past couple of years, and I get so much use out of them. I have them in black and brown, and they are just simply the perfect fall boot. Click here to go to my blog post that talks in more detail about these boots.

IMG_6223.jpg

Do you have any fall staples that you have been wearing a lot? As you can probably tell from the pictures, all of these things I shared today have been worn over and over again, and I love them all! Thanks so much for reading! Have a great day!

Long Weekend with the Goodmans

A couple of weeks ago, my sweet grandmother mailed me a picture of the two of us from over 25 years ago. In the letter she included, she mentioned that the picture of us was for a scrapbook, if people still have those. I have been a fan of pictures for as long as I can remember.

I have printed 1000s of pictures of Bailey and Rosie in the past few years and have several scrapbooks documenting their precious little lives. However, since I started my blog, I have not been scrapbooking as much because I tend to put lots of my pictures into blog posts (which is more time consuming than you would think and doesn't leave much time for scrapbooking).

So today, I decided to go with more of a personal post instead of my usual fashion posts. I am treating Art Fashion Fun as my scrapbook and documenting the wonderful long weekend we had with Parker's parents through pictures and descriptions of what we did each day. However, I will also be linking my outfits and sharing the things we got while shopping. :)

IMG_7906.jpg

Wednesday

Parker's dad was on vacation from work, so Mr. Mike and Mrs. Carol were able to come up to Southaven on Wednesday! They got in Wednesday evening, and we had a relaxing night at home. We grilled out and had a nice meal and wine while catching up. Then, we ended the night watching True Detective, which we continued to do the rest of the weekend as well.

IMG_7771.jpg
IMG_7971.jpg

Thursday

Parker had to go in to work for a little while on Thursday, and Mr. Mike also went in to see Parker's job. Mrs. Carol and I started out our morning nice and slow with lots of coffee and pjs for way too long. I got my Nordstrom Sale Picks ready for Friday, and it's still going on if you want to check it out. Click here to see lots of cute things included in the sale. I got a gift card recently, and I actually shopped my own post yesterday. It was hard to narrow down my cart because there are so many fabulous things included in the sale.

Parker actually got to come home around 2:00 to spend some time with his parents, and I was thankful because I was a terrible host and left at 3:00 for an event in Oxford (which is an hour away). I got to meet bloggers in real life for the first time! I met a Southaven blogger, a Memphis blogger, and 2 bloggers who are basically famous in the blogging world- Kathleen from Carrie Bradshaw Lied and Jennifer from Haute off the Rack. It was such an interesting experience, and now all I want to do is meet other bloggers in real life. There are so many things that go on behind the scenes in the blog world, and it was absolutely amazing to get to talk to other bloggers about these things.

IMG_7789.jpg

I forgot to mention that this day was actually Parker's birthday! I stayed at the event a little longer than scheduled, but when I got home, we enjoyed a couple of drinks before heading out to Mesquite Chophouse to celebrate Parker. Mr. Mike and Mrs. Carol treated us to the best meal I have had in quite some time. It was our first time to try this restaurant, and to say we enjoyed it would be an understatement.

IMG_7907.jpg
IMG_7793.jpg

We came home, watched Parker open his cards and gifts, and watched more True Detective.

IMG_7965.jpg

Friday

Parker took Friday off, and we had the best day! We enjoyed our coffee before heading to Germantown for Tazikis and shopping. Baseball card shopping for Mr. Mike and Parker (with his birthday money). And Shops of Saddle Creek shopping for Mrs. Carol and me.

IMG_7822.jpg

I had to get Parker to take a picture of my OOTD (outfit of the day) for my daily post on Instagram. This dress has been a favorite of mine, and it was perfect for a warm day.

Outfit Details: Dress // Shoes // Similar Earrings // Crossbody Bag

IMG_7856.JPG

We started at Anthropologie, and I fell in love with too many things of course. I only bought one item that had been on my wishlist for months. I got this tunic. It was originally $128, and I got it for under $55! Mrs. Carol bought a Christmas gift for someone. :)

IMG_7976.jpg

Then we went to Loft. Y'all, they have so many things that I want right now. I will share my finds later on, but I will share one thing today. Mrs. Carol kept insisting on buying me Christmas presents. I finally allowed her to buy me a necklace that was 25% off. Click here to check it out. The 2 necklaces are actually separate, so you can layer them or wear them by themselves. I can't wait to open up this gift when we are in Dothan for Christmas!

IMG_7905.JPG

Parker and Mr. Mike finished their shopping way too soon, so Loft was our final stop. Mrs. Carol and I had the best time and could have kept going for hours. But the guys were finished, so we came on home with them and Mr. Mike cooked us the most delicious dinner before we had Parker's birthday cake for dessert. We were too full the night before, so we got to enjoy The Cheesecake Factory red velvet cheesecake (bought at Walmart) after Mr. Mike's delicious meal.

IMG_7966.jpg
IMG_7968.jpg

Saturday

Saturday was a rainy day, but that didn't really matter to us because we don't leave the house on gamedays anyway. Parker's sweet parents offered to take us out to get new blinds to replace our broken ones, and Parker quickly declined and told them we don't leave the house on gameday. Football takes over our entire day.

IMG_7900.jpg

We watched Auburn, ate rotel dip, and watched football all. day. long. Maybe I should clarify- some of us watched football all day long, some of us online shopped and talked about Christmas lists. And others of us (Bailey and Rosie) slept in cozy spots all day long.

IMG_7973.jpg
IMG_7919.jpg

We ended the day watching the Alabama-LSU game and eating hamburgers and homemade french fries, which we hadn't made in at least a year. OMG- they are SO good. Also, Mrs. Carol let me buy one Christmas gift for her! She picked out this sweater that I got for myself a couple of weeks ago and shared about in this post. It is such a cute one, and I was excited to get my Christmas shopping started!

Sunday

Mr. Mike picked up breakfast for us on our last morning together, so we ate our breakfast and drank coffee before they had to head out. Mrs. Carol also got me to pick out one more Christmas gift. :) This ruffle sweatshirt dress included in the Nordstrom sale will be wrapped up under the tree for me to open next month, and I can't wait to open it and get to spend more time with Parker's amazing family!

IMG_7975.jpg

Two arms out for the most fun weekend!
